Bridal party

Hi friends,

Full transparency: I had major anxiety picking out my bridal party. Not because I couldn’t decide who, but because I felt so guilty asking all of you busy, incredible women (and man) to dedicate your hard-earned time and money to make my day – and everything leading up to that day – special. I understand it’s a big ask, and I’m immensely grateful for your support.

Here’s a list of your estimated expenses and commitments:

(1) Dress: $60 – $150 | If you explore the section below, I’ve selected 3 different sites for you to choose your dress from. They range from low to moderate to high price-wise. You may choose any dress you like within the color selection I’ve made.

(2) Shoes: $20 | You may choose any beige heel you like. Whatever’s comfortable. They have cute, cheap options at Target that are relatively comfortable.

(3) Accessories: $0 | This is entirely up to you! I’ve already provided a pair of earrings for you to wear the day of. Other than that, you’re welcome to wear whatever.

(4) Hair/Makeup: $50 | I don’t have a stylist/artist selected yet, so this is a research-based estimate.

(5) Bridal Shower: $0 | This will mostly be organized by my mother, so there shouldn’t be much expense here.

(6) Bachelorette Party: ?? | This is again up to you guys. Please know that I’m not picky and I do not have any extravagant expectations. I also do not expect you to pay my way. Here’s an idea: A two-night staycation by the beach in San Diego.

(7) Night Before the Wedding: $0 | There is no expense for your stay the night before the wedding. We will be having a good ‘ole fashioned sleepover at my parents’ home in San Marcos. We’ll watch a scary movie, maybe have a dance party, and be in bed by midnight. Then we’ll head over to the venue in the morning.

All that being said, I want you to know a few things. A bridal party manifesto, if you will.

(1) If ever an expense is too much, please let me know and I will be more than happy to help.

(2) If you live more than a few hours away from me, please do not feel like you need to attend every little event, including my bridal shower and my bachelorette party.

(3) The wedding is on a Friday, which means the rehearsal will be on that Thursday at 10:30am. I know you’ll already be missing work for the wedding, so if you can’t get Thursday off, don’t worry about it.

Well, that was long-winded. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to text or call. I’ll try to keep this page updated as we go. Thank you again for your support and friendship.

Love,

Shelby

Dresses

Technically, our wedding color is emerald, but “emerald” on one site is very different from “emerald” on another. Sometimes it’s more like hunter green or just plain old dark green. To make it easier, I’ve given you swatches of the correct color for each of the following 3 sites. You can choose any dress you like, as long as it’s the right color. Beside the site name below, I’ve indicated the price range of the dress options on that site.

Birdy Grey | $$
Show Me Your Mumu | $$$
JJ’s House | $
